I really enjoyed this story. Andre and Devin's story was well written and it really sucked me into the story. I hope to see more of these characters in other books.

Building Love is definitely a must read! It is a sweet, steamy and quick read. The main characters are Andre and Devin. Andre needs a carpenter and Devin can fit that mold and then some. Elaine Ashford does a great job making these characters come to life. There is more to them than just passion. They learn how to give and take while building more than just bookcases. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When leaf in the wind Andre meets toughly rooted Devin sparks fly and love blooms. What happens when the wind blows again, will Andre put down roots or float away? Andre blows into Devin's small town with the intention of flipping a house and flying away again, he never planned on meeting Devin. Devin agrees to do some custom carpentry for Andre, however he felt a connection too strong to ignore and thought Andre felt the same. Last minute bushiness trips and undisclosed plans put a strain on the new relationship. Sweet story with great characters (even if they are not that great at communication)

Building Love is the first book by Elaine Ashford I have read and it is such a nice read. It is beautifully developed and paced perfectly rather than all happening so fast that you feel you blink and you have missed something. I loved the fact Devin and Andre both have past 'issues' to explore with broken hearts and relationships. I also enjoyed that one was used to being in one place all his life, while the other simply moved from place to place and how this was resolved.
Elaine builds a story that is well developed and has the right amount of sweetness, angst and sparks. Another one to add to your TBR pile...I look forward to exploring more by this author.

Building Love by Elaine Ashford is a standalone gay romance. I was intrigued to find a standalone book with more mature characters from Elaine as I have previously only read her sports themed YA books.
The story take place in a small Minnesotan town called Oak Hill. One of the main characters moves there to flip an old mansion as he really likes the wooden window frames on the kitchen window. He then hires the other main character to build him wooden bookshelves and they just can't keep their hands to themselves and start sleeping together.
Their relationship is going strong when suddenly it's called to test with a sudden job offer from out of town firm. The other can't imagine moving anywhere from the town he has lived his whole live in and the other hasn't stayed in one place for more than couple of years in his life..
Finally love wins and there is a cute kitten in the book as well! Who could say no to that? <3
What I liked about the book is the storyline itself. It moves along wonderfully and there is just right amount of sex involved to make it a hot read! I also liked that once the MCs get together their life is not just perfect all of a sudden but they face obstacles but somehow manage to conquere them and move on even stronger than before.

This was an amazing story from Elaine. In her previous stories her male characters have been in college and have had relationships based on this phase of their lives. In this story we (the readers) are introduced to male characters that are in a later stage of their lives and the story benefits from this. The story is well written, flows wonderfully, and has an amazing cast of characters. I really enjoyed the development of the men and how they are exploring their new relationship. Elaine had always been a good author but this book is by far her best.
Building Love is the story of a man who moves every few years to a new city to flip a house that he desires and then moves on. He is not able to settle down and works just so that he can afford to re-build old houses (this being his true passion). When he moves to a new town he meets a wonderful woodworker and they develop a relationship.
I loved that the story was over around a year, not instant anything, and that each of the lead males had their own issues with this new love. I also really loved Mac, great addition. The story was cleanly written, well done, flowed beautiful and was full of wonderful emotions. I immediately connected to the characters and was rooting for them the entire time. I truly believe that this is Elaine’s best work and any reader will enjoy their time in this world. It just lightened my heart and satisfied my craving for love. I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
