Zachery and Gideon Stark are brothers who search for the worlds wildest adventures that they can find all over the globe. This adventure finds them in Venezuela searching for the worlds highest falls to descend. The one thing they didn't expect was to find themselves in a life and death situation where there are absolutely no rules. The only thing that is going to help them is their will to survive.

Acadia Gray has planned a trip to Venezuela with a group of friends before she heads off to school. Arriving a day earlier than her friends. She is a planner, she has a strategy, she anticipates and has lists, but this first night alone she decides to have a one night fling, as she plans on never seeing the guy again. Little does she know that the one night with Zak will change her plans for a fun vacation into running for her life. She also has a major problem when she is scared or nervous--she can't stop talking and she lies, and she is scared for her very life.

They are kidnapped at gunpoint by a group of guerrilla soldiers and taken into the jungle. The three of them have no idea where they are or why they were taken, they only know that if they don't find a way to escape that they will be dead. As they plan their escape, Acadia proves to Zak that she is no simpering woman and comes up with a few strategies of her own. It takes some time, but they manage to trick the soldiers and escape. As they try to find there way back to civilization the men decide to split up to confuse whoever it is that is following them and meet in town at an appointed time and place.

Of course everything doesn't go as planned and they have to face a few obstacles on there travel back to civilization. Acadia has to make quick decisions that have her scared out of her mind, but knows she has to put the fear behind her.
Will they be able to meet in the town they agree on and live to tell about it? Do they have the time to figure out who wanted them kidnapped and why? Well, you will have to read it, but I promise it will be will worth it!

Wow, what I ride. Cherry has certainly has done it again. From the moment, Zak Stark woke, to find a naked woman beside him, a gun to his head, he knew he was in trouble. Kidnapped, taken into the jungle with a 20 mil on his head the fun was only just going to begin. As for Acadia Gray leaving your inhibitions at the door for one night she found out was not such a great idea taken along with Zak into the deep jungle in Venezuela with Zak's brother Gideon. 60 mil on their heads, they knew they had to escape. There is shooting, things blown up, chasing, with great banter and a hero who doesn't believe him a hero because he failed his first wife who was killed. A daredevil who lived from one thrill to the other. However, be warned nothing is what it seems. With twists and turns Cherry delivers another thrilling ride of suspense, action, and passion. We must not forget the passion. This is the first book in the Lodestone series. This is where it all started. Afterglow is all ready in line to be read. Love Cherry's books.
I am a long time fan of Cherry Adair so expectations were high. Of course she delivered with delicious Zac and adorable Cady. I really fell in love with the main characters (as always....she truly has a skill for making the heroine characters likeable). Especially the way that Cady came to realize her independence and confidence.

Its humorous that a few reviewers suggested the story was far fetched....hello romance novels? But I like the element of suspense and mystery woven in.
I think some readers will appreciate that the story has a somewhat unpredictable ending....at least for me, I didn't see the scene with Gideon coming at all.

Without spoiling the story I was a little disappointed with some plot twists but I wouldn't put it past Adair to shock me in an upcoming read. Part of my love/hate relationship with this story is that it pulled so much empathy for me I was really caring what happened in the end.

Finally...this story was J U I C Y HOT~ ! I HIGHLY recommend Cherry Adair and to be honest I cant believe she hasn't reached mega star author status yet!
